I want all of this. I want everything He prayed. We need strength, mighty power, the Holy Spirit Himself indwelling us and even changing our personalities. Today, Lord. We need that now.
When we are born again, our spirit man is recreated in a moment, but our soul is not. Our minds, wills, and emotions — our personalities — will take some work to change and bring under full submission to God. It’s a lifelong journey.
Do you ever get frustrated with yourself because you keep falling into old patterns of the flesh? It may be attitudes, selfishness, anger, or gossiping. You promise yourself and God you’re going to do better, but you just keep missing it. Or maybe you get frustrated with someone else for the same thing.
I have a newsflash for you. You’re human. They’re human. Offer grace and then pray this prayer. Paul knew this was something that needed supernatural help from the Holy Ghost, which is why he prayed this continually for the church. And it’s why we need to pray it continually for ourselves and Your Church in the city of Warren.
Let’s pray together.
Father God, there is so much in our personalities and habits that need changed, and we can’t do it on our own. So, we ask You to come. Indwell Your Church in the city of Warren. And indwell me too. Come live in our innermost beings and our personalities. Strengthen us and reinforce us with Your mighty power so that we can grow and mature fully into the image of Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
