When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
Matthew 9:36-38 (NLT)
Jesus had a massive work to do while He was here on this earth. He was always surrounded by crowds who were pulling on Him. He was fully God, but He was also fully man with the limitations of a human.
Jesus saw the crowds. He didn’t look past them. He looked at them. As He looked at the vast multitudes of the lost and broken, He was overwhelmed by the task at hand, and He knew, as a human, He needed help.
So He recruited His disciples. But before He ever told them to GO to the harvest field, He told them to pray for harvesters. Pray for help. Pray for people to be willing to lay down their lives and go for Him.
It’s important to pray for the lost. It’s important to go to the lost. But before we do any of that, we need to pray for the harvesters to be filled with such a desperation for the lost that they will be compelled to go.
Let’s pray together together.
PRAYER POINTS FOR ME
- Father, open my eyes to see the vastness of the harvest. Father, Help me to see and look right at those who desperately need You. Help my eyes to see where I have overlooked them in the past. Help me to not look past them but to see them like Jesus did.
- Father, fill me with compassion for the lost that moves me to action and that actually causes me to do something about what I feel.
- Father, send forth laborers into Your harvest.
TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE LOST IN WARREN, OHIO
Father, we turn our attention to the laborers in the field who are out there doing the work. They’ve been moved to action and are compelled to share the gospel and minister the love of God to those who are all around them. You don’t have to be a minister to do that. I can do that. You have brought us through situations in our own lives in victory and used those to created opportunities for us because of what we’ve gone through to minister effectively to those who so desperately need You. So use us. Use me. I pray that You would help the harvesters. Open their eyes. Help them as they are compelled by the Holy Spirit to speak when they need to speak and act when they need to act. Lord, we know this, Your Word teaches us that the love of God, the loving kindness of God causes all men to repent. I pray today that those harvesters would walk in a such a sincere and real love that the Lost in the city of Warren that they come into contact with has to acknowledge this is different. This is the love of God. And cause them to turn their hearts to You.
Father, I pray that You will send laborers into the paths of all the Lost in the city of Warren. Send someone they will listen to. Give them the right words to speak and let their words be saturated with Your anointing that will pierce their hearts and draw them close to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
We will see you back here tomorrow to pray together again.
Eph 4:4

Gen 11:6
“And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
