That you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
Ephesians 3:19b AMPC
I have a saying about ice cream (which is one of my favorite foods by the way). No matter how full you feel, there’s always room for ice cream. It just melts into all the empty spaces in your stomach.
Reread the verse. Now read it again and let the words soak in.
“That you may be filled.” Filled means filled. It means all the way full with no space left over for anything else to fit at all.
“Through all your being.” God wants to fill us through ALL our being, not just our spirits, not just our souls, not just our bodies. He wants us to experience Him with our entire being with nothing left out and nothing untouched by God.
“Unto all the fullness of God.” He doesn’t want us to just have a tiny portion of Him. He’s not holding anything back from us. He wants our entire being saturated with the FULLNESS of who He is.
“The richest measure.” It’s not like when we buy a steak and get the cheapest cut. He wants us to have the filet, the richest, best, most desirable part of Him.
“Of the Divine Presence.” Do we realize what we carry? We carry part of heaven with us. The Divine presence of God is in us. Part of another world. We don’t just live connected to this natural sense realm. We are in constant contact with the spirit realm where God lives with access to all of its resources.
A body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself. I’m going to say that again. Wholly filled and flooded with God Himself. Not flooded with anxiety. Not flooded with depression. Not flooded with insecurity. We can exchange all those things and be flooded with God Himself. Who wouldn’t want that?
This leaves me in awe every time I read it. The extravagance of what Paul prayed for the church, prayed for us, astounds me. Let’s pray it today so we can experience it, too.
Let’s pray together.
Father, fill Your Church in the city of Warren with the richest measure of Your Divine presence. And don’t just fill us. We ask You to flood us with more of You and Your presence and Your goodness than we can stand. Remind us that the Living God has come to abide in us and that You will never leave. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
