Day 11

If a man has a hundred sheep and one gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?

Luke 15:4 (NLT)

We lost our daughter one day when she was around 2 years old. I was outside playing with our 3 kids while my husband was inside fixing a window. One minute she was there. When I looked up the next minute, she was gone. I can’t tell you the absolute panic that filled my heart.

I ran to my husband, hoping she had gone in with him, but she had not. Then we were both panicked. We ran up and down the street, shouting her name and looking for her. We finally found her, thank God! We didn’t know she had learned how to open the door and she let herself into the garage without me seeing her.

I will never forget that feeling.

That’s how God feels about each and every lost person in the city of Warren. It’s how He feels about each and every lost soul on this planet. He’s calling to them. Reaching for them. He’s inviting His church to join Him in His search, and He does it through our prayers.

Let’s pray together.

PRAYER POINTS FOR ME

  • Father, thank You that You didn’t back down in Your pursuit of me until You found me.
  • Father, give me Your eyes to see the lost the way You do.
  • Father, give me Your heart of compassion for the lost and Your words to pray over them.

TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE LOST IN WARREN, OHIO

Father, I ask You to keep pursuing all of the Lost in the city of Warren today. Pour out Your love in their hearts and souls. Send laborers across their paths to minister Your life and truth to them. Soften their hearts to receive what you so freely offer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

We will see you back here tomorrow to pray together again.

  1. I think of the prodigal’s father: looking down the road EVERY day, in the hope that he might see his son. Day after day, hope taking his eyes and directing them towards the homecoming…never stopping…that’s God’s love for the lost. THEN the joy when his eyes were finally satisfied and he saw the boy coming: prepare a feast and a celebration! My lost son is coming, and we need to welcome him!
