For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground.
Isaiah 44:3 (NKJV)
Have you ever been thirsty? I think it’s safe to say we all have been. What’s the first thing you do? Reach for something to drink. But taking a drink of something won’t alleviate thirst if you drink the wrong thing. If you reach for pop, it will only make you thirstier. Water, on the other hand, quenches thirst.
What you drink is just as important as taking a drink.
Jesus told us in John 7:37, “If you’re thirsty, come to me and drink.”
We all get thirsty spiritually and emotionally. Sometimes we try to quench it with the things of this world, like TV or books or drugs or alcohol. But those things will never satisfy. They only make us thirstier.
Jesus is the cup that will never run dry. He quenches every thirst and satisfies the longing of every heart when we choose to drink of Him instead.
Let’s pray together.
PRAYER POINTS FOR ME
- Father, teach me to turn to You when I thirst instead of the things that can never satisfy my heart.
- Father, thank You for always being there for me when I need You.
- Father, I surrender those things in my life I’ve put in Your place. Show me how to drink from You alone.
TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE LOST IN WARREN, OHIO
Father, all the Lost people in the city of Warren are thirsty for You and probably don’t even know it. I know you are the only thing that will satisfy their thirst. Pour Your water on the dry ground of their heart and flood their thirsty souls with the River of Life from heaven. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Let’s just pray a little bit longer into that:
Father God, we thank You that You are living water. I thank You, Father, that You are the river that flows into the hearts of every man and woman who calls upon Your name. Father, I pray that the people of Warren would get an unction, would get an urge, would get a thirst for You like they’ve never had before, and they will only be satisfied when they search out and they find it. Find You. I pray, Father, that the churches will be open to these hungry, thirsty people who will be coming to them looking for answers. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
We will see you back here tomorrow to pray together again.
