Day 24 (Till Christ be Formed)

(May He) strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).

Hebrews 13:21 AMPC

This is a prayer that is buried towards the end of the book of Hebrews, and I love it. When I discovered it, I started praying it for myself regularly.

This power-packed prayer written so nonchalantly, sandwiched between exhortations to obey their spiritual leaders and letting them know that Timothy is free again and they’ll both come to visit them soon, is everything I want in my life.

I need strengthened, completed, perfected, and equipped, don’t you? These are all things that the Holy Spirit unctioned the writer of Hebrews to pray over the church because they are things He wanted to do in them and things He still wants to do in us today.

He wants to work in us. He wants to accomplish in us that which is well-pleasing. He wants to equip us with everything good to accomplish His will. He’s just waiting for us to ask. So, let’s ask.

Let’s pray together.

Father, In Jesus’ Name we ask You to strengthen Your Church in the city of Warren with Your mighty power in their spirits. Lord, we need this too. May that power have an outworking expression through us to the world around us. Work in us. Help us accomplish those things that are pleasing to You and help us lay aside those things that are not. We want what You want for us and in us and through us. Help us surrender our desires so we can walk Your will out fully in our lives. Amen.
