The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
John 1:5 (NLT)
No one walks into a dark room and says, “Turn off the darkness!” No. We say, “Turn on the light.” Darkness literally means the absence of light.
When light comes, darkness goes. It has no choice. It’s not a fight. There is no power struggle over who gets to stay. Darkness cannot overpower the light.
When the light of God’s Word comes into our life, darkness must leave. This is why Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:18 for our hearts to be flooded with light so we can understand, and it’s why we can pray this for the lost in the city of Warren.
If you’re feeling “in the dark” about God or any part of His Word, you can pray this for yourself too.
So let’s pray together.
PRAYER POINTS FOR ME
- Father, flood my heart and mind with the light of Your Word so I can clearly see truth.
- Father, thank You that the Spirit of life and light lives in me and I don’t have to fear the darkness.
- Father, forgive me for any areas I’ve chosen to walk in darkness. Guide me back into the light by Your Word.
TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE LOST IN WARREN, OHIO
Father, flood the hearts and souls of all the Lost in the city of Warren with Your light and truth today. Let the light flood their minds so they can clearly see and understand their need for Jesus. Bring them closer to You by revealing Your love to them.
Father, I thank You, and we seal this with the blood of Jesus, that today people’s lives are being changed and they will see how much You clearly love them and that You gave Your life for them. And Father, I thank You in advance that they will see this in the Name that is above all Names. The Name of Jesus. Amen!
We will see you back here tomorrow to pray together again.
