Day 26

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the World.

John 1:29 (NKJV)

Have you ever been so fascinated by something that you stare at it? I mean it’s so mesmerizing you can’t take your eyes off it? That’s how I feel about sunsets over the ocean. I stare and stare and stare at it until it has sunk completely below the horizon. Then I stare at the pictures I took of it.

Behold means to see or observe something. To gaze upon.

This is what John was telling the people to do with Jesus. In essence what he is saying here is, “Here is Jesus! He has come to take away our sins! Observe Him. Gaze upon Him. Stare at Him.” Some people know about Jesus, but they have not yet stared at Him.

They haven’t yet really seen Him for who He is, the answer to their biggest need and the One who took their place of punishment to welcome them into a life of grace. It’s time for them to stare!

Let’s pray together.

PRAYER POINTS FOR ME

  • Father, I’m so thankful Jesus took my place and took my sin and gave me grace and peace in its place.
  • I praise You, Jesus, for loving me. Your love amazes me every day as I think of Your sacrifice on the cross.
  • Father, fill my life so full of Your presence and power that when people “stare” at me, they see Jesus instead.

TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE LOST IN WARREN, OHIO

Father, I pray that You will remove hindrances and distractions in the lives of all the Lost in the city of Warren so they can stare at Jesus with their full attention. Open their eyes to clearly see Him. Touch their heart with Your love until they crave nothing else.

Thank You, Lord, for these precious souls. I come against the snare of the enemy who has held them captive. I pray You will open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light. I come against deception and a spirit of procrastination that may prevent them from surrendering their lives to You. Thank You for softening their hearts and removing the scales from their eyes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

We will see you back here tomorrow to pray together again.
