That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it].

I consider myself to be somewhat of an intelligent human being. I got decent grades in high school and on into college. I got straight A’s in Bible School. But to be honest, some things escape my ability to grasp and understand.
Chemistry is one. You can talk to me all day long about Chemistry and you will get the same blank stare, no matter how many different ways you try to explain it. I simply don’t understand it.
Paul knew some things in the Spirit would be the same way for us, so he included them by the unction of the Holy Spirit in his prayer for the churches. God is an infinite being. Our minds are finite. We will never fully understand the infinite God with our finite minds.
God’s love is beyond our ability to understand on our own. But if we pray, by the help of the Holy Spirit, He can bring revelation to our hearts and minds to help us grasp it. I don’t know about you, but I need all the help I can get.

Father God, we ask you to give Your Church in the city of Warren (and me) the power to apprehend the idea of and to understand and grasp the vastness of Your love — the entirety of it — the height and width and breadth and length of it. On our own, we could never get it. But we believe by the help of the Holy Spirit, You will enable us to walk in a deeper level of Your love today. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
